We want to extend our sincere thanks to every volunteer who came out to assist in the search efforts for Michael. Your time, energy, and willingness to help means more than words can express to the family and everyone involved.

Based on the information available, there is a high probability that Michael entered the water near the following coordinates:

49°47'37.3"N 97°07'08.3"W (King’s Park area)

We are respectfully asking for assistance from anyone with access to a boat or drone who may be able to help search the river in this area and downstream. Even brief time on the water could make a meaningful difference.

If you are a boater in the area, please consider:

• Scanning shorelines, debris areas, and slower-moving sections of the river near the coordinates, and continue downstream.
• Reporting anything of concern immediately to police at (204) 986-6250.

Safety is critical — please do not put yourself at risk.

Our Missing Persons Investigations Unit is committed to assisting families and supporting active missing persons cases with professionalism, urgency, and care. We are currently accepting volunteers on a casual, as-needed basis to support our operational and community-based efforts.

Volunteers play a meaningful role in helping us extend our reach, improve coordination, and support time-sensitive investigations.

Volunteer Opportunities

 

Depending on experience and availability, volunteers may assist with:

Community Outreach & Awareness

  • Supporting awareness campaigns for missing persons

  • Assisting with flyer distribution and digital sharing

  • Helping coordinate community search efforts when required

Administrative & Case Support

  • Organizing case-related information under direction

  • Assisting with data entry and documentation

  • Supporting internal coordination tasks

 

 Search Coordination Support

  • Assisting with planning community search efforts

  • Helping manage volunteer sign-ins during organized searches

  • Providing logistical support during active search operations

 

Public Information Support

  • Assisting in preparing public notices and updates

  • Supporting communication between community members and investigators

 

 

 

Volunteer Requirements

 

We welcome individuals who are:

  • Reliable, respectful, and community-minded

  • Able to follow instructions from investigators and coordinators

  • Comfortable working in sensitive and emotionally challenging situations

  • Available on a flexible, casual basis as needed

Screening & Vetting

 

Due to the sensitive nature of missing persons investigations, all volunteers may be subject to:

  • Identity verification

  • Reference checks

  • Criminal background screening (where applicable)

 

Additional screening may be required depending on the level of involvement.

All volunteers are expected to:

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Respect families, investigators, and community members

  • Follow lawful and ethical guidelines

  • Avoid sharing case details on social media unless explicitly authorized

  • Act professionally and responsibly in all interactions
