Update: May 27, 2026
This Sunday morning on May 31, 2026, we will be heading out on the Red River by boat using sonar technology in continued search efforts for Michael Masukume.
We will be spending the entire day on the river and are welcoming experienced boaters who may wish to assist in the search. Gas costs will be covered for those helping with boats.
If you are interested in assisting, please message me directly for the meeting location and time.
We are also asking anyone walking trails or shorelines along the Red River to remain especially attentive near King’s Park, Lyndale Drive, Churchill Drive, Maple Grove Park, and surrounding shoreline areas downstream. Please pay close attention to shoreline debris areas, reeds, fallen trees, river bends, docks, and areas where currents naturally collect material along the banks. Don't put your safety at risk.
If you are out walking, biking, or spending time near the river and observe anything relevant, please immediately contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at (204) 986-6250.
We intend to continue organized search efforts throughout the summer. Every extra set of eyes on the water and along the riverbanks helps.

We are currently scheduling a time to continue the search efforts on the Red River and are hoping the weather conditions improve soon.

We are respectfully asking for assistance from anyone with access to a boat or drone who may be able to help search the river in this area and downstream. Even brief time on the water could make a meaningful difference.
If you are a boater in the area, please consider:
• Scanning shorelines, debris areas, and slower-moving sections of the river near the coordinates, and continue downstream.
